In the early hours of 8th October 1941, only 2 days after the Thistlegorm was bombed, the Rosalie Möller met a similar fate. She was carrying a cargo of coal and was bound for the port of Alexandria, having sailed from Britain, circumnavigating the Cape of Good Hope.
The ship sank with the loss of two lives, the rest of the crew managing to escape, and she now lies at a depth between 35 – 50m, bow-down. In the light of her depth, she is recommended only for experienced divers and presents an interesting yet challenging dive. The stern remains intact with the prop and rudder worth closer inspection. In terms of marine life, there are shoals in abundance to be found here – from Glassfish to Tuna, Jacks to Snappers. You may even have the fortune to see a reef shark.
