The dive site of Ras Abu Soma is situated just off a piece of headland by the same name, close to Soma Bay. The reef here extends down to 15m at which point there is a sandy slope with lots of coral formations – table corals and boulder corals dominate. Below this at around 25m the main coral wall starts again, dropping away to the depths below. Many reef species abound – anemones and their anemonefish, giant Morays, cornetfish, even Octopus. You may even have the fortune to encounter some pelagic life such as Barracuda, snappers, Manta rays and hammerhead sharks!
