This is a large elongated reef with walls dropping steeply to over 400m. Frequent currents mean dives at this site are recommended only for experienced divers and great care must be taken with keeping an eye on your depth and air consumption. However, at either end of the reef, the north and south, there are plateaus which can be explored before the main drop off.
On the southern plateau the reef plate gently slopes until you reach the main drop off which is at a depth of about 25m. This plateau is covered with hard and soft corals in pristine condition. You can expect to see giant morays, groupers and frequently turtles in the area. Also, there is a pillar of coral rising from the reef plate here around which you will find hundreds of anthias fish. At the main drop off, look out into the blue where you are likely to see tuna, jackfish, barracuda and often White-tips and Grey Reef Sharks.
The northern plateau can only be dived in calm conditions. Here, you will find many soft corals, large black corals and plenty of Gorgonian Fan Corals. Bannerfish and Butterflyfish are usually plentiful on this plateau. Again, as with the southern section, out in the blue you will probably see a number of large pelagic species.
